Phil Lachapelle’s New England heritage reflects his love of landscapes, textures and foliage. Color, richness and contrast is depicted in the variety of subjects he paints. He was born in Rhode Island and received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Providence College.

Phil Lachapelle, artist living in Camino California

Phil, influenced by his mother’s artistic talent, began to sketch automobile designs in his late teens. He submitted a car design portfolio to the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He was accepted and completed a highly intense series of courses emphasizing industrial design specializing in transportation, color analysis, graphics, sketching, rendering and illustrations.

Even though his career took a different turn into commercial video electronics his desire for artistic expression was kept alive by occasional landscape paintings. Phil now paints full time and utilized his artistic training to creatively capture a variety of scenes and subjects.

Phil now paints at his home studio in Camino, California.
