Morning peace and serenity on placid reflections
Phil’s Rhode Island
heritage is reflected in his painting of foliage and country
scenes.
He now resides in the Northern California Foothills where he has
added Gold Country, Yosemite, California and Wine Country scenes
to his portfolio.
Phil enjoys capturing the essence of Italy with its architecture,
colors and textures. The beauty of the Northern Italy Lake
District, the charming town of Bellagio, the Tuscany and Siena
countryside along with the Chianti vineyards have made a major
impression on him during his visits there.
He relates to the scenes that he paints in a sensorial and
spiritual way. Having walked the pathways of Tuscany, hiked the
trails of Yosemite, traveled throughout The Sierra and experienced
the colors of New England, he feels well equipped to depict the
natural surroundings and colorful landscapes that these locales
have provided him.
Influenced by the artistic talents of his mother, Phil completed
automobile design, rendering and art training at Art Center
College of Design in Los Angeles. This training in a variety of
mediums such as acrylics, pastels, pencils, watercolor and oils
has given him many tools with which to create art composition and
creation.
Phil has received advanced art training from well known
impressionists Anita Wolff and Victoria Brooks. He presently describes his work
as realistic with an impressionist feeling.
